The company was founded in Barcelona in 1890 to insure the Catalan textile industry. Today there are four offices, one hundred and nineteen people and seventeen sectors, with the same entrepreneurial families behind many of the portfolios.
Foundation of the Armengol Agency
In 1890, in the prosperous city of Barcelona, the Armengol Agency was founded, an entity dedicated to specialised insurance programmes for the textile sector.
1st and 2nd generational handover
Seven decades under Josep Armengol Palau and his son, during which the company transitioned from textiles to the broader Catalan industrial fabric.
International expansion
The 3rd and 4th generational handover under Amadeu Jori adapted to the emergence of the mass market and the arrival of international brokers.
Union of forces, the 5th generational handover
JORI& expands its international presence, opens an office in Madrid and establishes strategic alliances with La Securité Nouvelle and Heath Lambert.
First international broker network
JORI& joins as a partner for Spain in a global network of independent brokers and gains correspondents in countries where it has no office. It is the first organised international reach of the company and the foundation of the networks it works with today.
Aporta and flexible remuneration
JORI& creates Aporta, a tool that simplifies the management of employee benefits for human resources departments.
The current generation takes over
The sixth generation of the family takes over and maintains the model: own team, own criteria and the same entrepreneurial families behind.
Specialisation in cyber risk
The company establishes its own speciality in cybersecurity and technological risks. It was established because cyber risk no longer fit within a damage policy.
Expansion and digitalisation of JORI&
After integrating Abaigar, Servisegur, CIP, Asedesa, Azetek and Asurbrok, JORI& adds offices in Vitoria and Mollerussa and launches a new website.
ISO 9001 Certification
We obtained ISO 9001 following an independent audit by SGS. A milestone that consolidates traceable processes, data-driven decisions and continuous improvement.
