Claim
Event foreseen in the policy whose occurrence gives rise to the obligation to indemnify. The insured must report it within seven days of becoming aware of it.
In practice
Exceeding the deadline does not alone result in loss of cover, but allows the insurer to claim for any damage caused by the delay. Early communication also allows directing the assessment from the start.
