Group life insurance
Policy that covers the death and, if applicable, the disability of a group of employees under the same contract.
In practice
It may respond to a collective agreement obligation or be a company decision. The difference matters: the mandatory is reviewed when the agreement changes, the voluntary when the remuneration policy changes.
