Travel insurance and international assistance

At JORI we understand that each trip is a unique experience and we want you to enjoy your adventures to the fullest without worries.

Definition

What is travel insurance

Travel insurance covers medical assistance and repatriation abroad, trip cancellation for justified reasons, and luggage incidents. Its decisive cover is medical assistance: hospitalisation in the United States can exceed €100,000, and neither the Spanish public health system nor the European Health Insurance Card cover anything outside their applicable areas.

Advantages

Advantages of travel insurance

01

You do not advance the money

The headquarters refers to an agreed centre and pays directly. Without a policy, a hospital in the United States requires a card before attending and you claim afterwards.

02

You recover what you paid if you cannot travel.

The cancellation refunds a trip already paid for months before. In a family trip of a certain amount, the premium is recovered with a single unforeseen event.

03

Requirement for visa and stays.

Numerous countries and study programmes require proof of medical insurance with a minimum capital. Without it, entry is not processed.

04

The annual one costs a few cents a day.

From three or four trips a year, the multi-trip costs less than contracting them separately and eliminates the risk of forgetting one.

How we work

Our specialists' experience turns every risk into knowledge, and that knowledge into a solution designed for you and your family.

  1. Risk analysis

Every client faces a unique situation. We analyse each client's specific risks to detect vulnerabilities, assess security measures and propose improvements that strengthen the protection of their assets.

  2. Programme design

All our programmes are designed to integrate every cover needed and to bring peace of mind to those who trust us.

  3. Selection across the insurance market

We carefully select insurers and design exclusive insurance programmes, adapted to each client's particular circumstances, with a fully tailor-made approach.

  4. Specialised claims management

Claims are the most vulnerable moment for a client. That is why it is so important to have specialists who provide support throughout the process.

Frequent doubts

Most frequently asked questions about travel insurance

Doesn't the European Health Insurance Card already cover me?

Only in countries of the European Economic Area and Switzerland, and only in public centres and under the same conditions as a resident, which includes their co-payments. It does not cover repatriation, private assistance, or companion expenses. Outside this scope, it covers absolutely nothing.

What medical assistance capital do I need?

For Europe, €30,000 is usually enough. For the United States, Canada or Japan, we do not go below €500,000 and recommend unlimited capital, because an intervention with hospitalisation there can easily exceed any intermediate figure.

When should I take out cancellation cover?

At the time of booking and paying for the trip, not afterwards. Cancellation covers unforeseen causes after contracting; if you contract when you already know there may be a problem, that cause is excluded as known.

Is the annual multi-trip policy worth it?

From three or four trips a year, almost always. It covers all trips of the year with a limit of days per trip, usually between thirty and ninety. For professional profiles travelling each month, it is clearly the most efficient option.

Does it cover if I have a chronic illness?

Assistance for a new cause does. Decompensation of the pre-existing condition is usually excluded, unless pre-existing cover is contracted, which exists in the market and must be expressly requested. It is the most important conversation for travellers with a known condition.

What do I do if I need assistance while abroad?

Call the assistance centre before going to a medical centre, whenever the urgency allows. The insurer refers to an agreed centre and assumes payment directly, which avoids advancing very high amounts and later discussing reimbursement.
